WHO’S BEHIND THIS?

A mother who started this story with her 5 months old daughter, suffering from seizures and epilepsy due to Dravet Syndrome. From the very first year of her life, her daughter has been struggling with hospitals, medical tests, medicines and therapies. All this have taken hours, days and years of research. A never ending fight, but with the help of therapists and doctors, who provide and share their knowledge and experiences to get to every corner and every family.

At the Dravet Venezuela Foundation, there are currently 3 Venezuelan patients registered.
Next we tell the story of two of them.
Yenmar is the first Venezuelan girl diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome. He began his crisis at 5 months, it was in 2012 that he got his diagnosis. She is a cheerful, affectionate and communicative girl of 7 years. Always with a smile and great disposition.
Victor 5 years old, his first crisis occurred at 4 months. It was diagnosed in 2014, in 2016 it is discovered by the foundation, since then it has been given all possible support to him and his mom in search of improving their quality of life and helping him to enjoy his childhood.

YENJARI RAMIREZ / FOUNDER

Degree in Education and 31 years old, she has been in love with her career by helping children. Now, after giving birth to her daughter and due to diagnose, she has been studying throughout six years, applying every possible therapy. She’s willing to spread the knowledge about Dravet Syndrome by guiding and helping parents on this struggle, to offer better life quality to the children.
